A Sudoku puzzle is a grid 9 squares wide and 9 squares deep. The lines of squares running horizontally are called rows, and the lines running vertically are called columns. The grid is further divided by the darker lines into nine 3 X 3 square 'boxes'.
Some of the squares already have numbers in them. Your task is to fill in the blank squares. There's only one rule: Each row, column and box must end up containing all of the numbers from 1 to 9.
This rule has an important side-effect, which is the basis of all solving techniques: Each number can only appear once in a row, column or box. This reduces the number of possible values. Keep track of what values could be in each square and eventually you will be left with little or no choice.

Sudoku Puzzel Online
Een Sudoku puzzel bestaat uit een veld van 9 x 9 hokjes. Het gebied is onderverdeeld in negen vierkanten van 3 x 3 hokjes.
In die hokjes moeten de getallen 1 tot en met 9 worden ingevuld, zodat elk getal precies een keer voorkomt in elke rij, in elke kolom en in elk 3 x 3 vakje.
Sudoku puzzels zijn waarschijnlijk in de jaren zeventig bedacht in Amerika, maar werd vooral populair in Japan. Daar komt ook de naam vandaan.
Su is Japans voor getal en doku betekent alleen.
